| AIM OF THE COURSE |
On completion of the course, the student should be able to
- formulate and reflect on the own view on leadership
- apply acquired knowledge to create strategies in real situations
- examine and present a specific field in the subject of leadership |
| CONTENTS |
| This course has clear communicative contents with a focus on interhuman relations from a management perspective. Important parts of the course are basic theories, practise and training in communication and group processes/dynamics, leadership styles, conflict prevention, analysis of a case study and an advanced assignment comprising 5 HE credits. |
| TEACHING |
| The course has an insight-oriented and drama communicative working method to be able to acquire the advanced knowledge in all parts of the course. The studies are focused on experience-oriented and reflecting work in teacher-supervised and independent working methods. The teaching sessions are characterised by practical work and interpretation, and reflection on these. Teacher-supervised theory sessions are featured, but by and large the student acquires theoretical knowledge individually and in groups. The examination assignments include relating theory to practice and vice versa. The student is required to prepare for and participate in the teaching sessions and group assignments, literature seminars and examinations. |
| EXAMINATION |
The student is examined continuously during the course. The student writes a personal leadership theory based on lectures, discussions, reflection and literature. The case study and the advanced assignment are examined. All examinations are presented both orally and in writing.
Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.
Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades. |

| A grade of Pass with Credit, Pass or Fail is given for the course |
| CERTIFICATE |
| Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division. |

in question. |
| OTHER INFORMATION |
Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.
The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed. |
