AIM OF THE COURSE
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- demonstrate a developed ability to shape textile products
- apply sketches in practical work with textile materials,
- account for and apply broadened knowledge of different methods for textile sketching techniques,
- analyse and demonstrate advanced ability to realise ideas in textile design,
- visualise, communicate and present a strengthened personal expression in textile,
- present a deeper knowledge of textile materials, to a great extent independently assess and evaluate the processes and results of the sketching process.
CONTENTS
The course contains pattern construction and sketching exercises in different materials and techniques that relate to application in textile, based on individual choice. The sketching is analysed with views on material, product and expression.
TEACHING
Lectures, seminars, independent work, group work and laboratory sessions, supervision and supervised teaching. The students are supervised in product development and planning of the work process of creating textile design. Literature studies with a seminar, study visits and assignments that are handed out during the course with presentation sessions.
EXAMINATION
The course is examined through oral presentation, presentation of practical work and written reflection on practical application in textile.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Passing grade in Textile Design 1, basic course, 7.5 HE credits or the equivalent.
GRADING
A grade of Pass with Credit, Pass or Fail is given for the course
CERTIFICATE
Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division.
COURSE LITERATURE
The course literature is decided upon by the department in question.
OTHER INFORMATION
Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.

The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
