AIM OF THE COURSE
On completion of the course, the student should be able to - reflect on and specialise in different aspects of drama communication both in theory and practice - create own models for drama communicative exercises, based on drama/theatre - describe qualitative leadership in drama and theatre based on theoretical perspectives, - use and reflect on the importance of the mask in communicative processes, - account for different research-oriented questions, - write individual scholarly work.
CONTENTS
The course should give the students advanced knowledge in drama communication, where practical skills are related to theoretical aspects of the subject. Strong emphasis is placed on theoretical studies with interpretation, analysis and development of exercises implemented during the course, with a focus on qualitative leadership. On the basis of practical exercises, previous experiences in the subject and research-related literature, the student should reflect on the form and contents of the drama. The course should give the student knowledge and skills in using masks. Furthermore, a connection to theoretical perspectives on the mask should be carried out through literature studies. In the course, an individual academic paper with a focus on drama communication is included, as well as studies of different research-oriented questions.
TEACHING
The course has an experience- and insight-based working method to give the student the possibility to specialise in important aspects of drama communication. The studies are also characterised by experience-based creative work and a reflective working method that relates to theory. The teaching is given as practical exercises linked to theories and follow-up discussions, literature seminars, supervision, lectures and self-study.
EXAMINATION
The course is examined through written and oral presentations in groups and/or individually. The student should document the supervised teaching and the work in groups. The essay and critical review are examining parts.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

60 HE credits approved in drama/drama communication (or the equivalent).
GRADING
A grade of Pass with Credit, Pass or Fail is given for the course
CERTIFICATE
Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division.
COURSE LITERATURE
The course literature is decided upon by the department in question.
OTHER INFORMATION
Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.

The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
