On completion of the course, the student should be able to
- use basic knowledge and demonstrate an understanding of the different legal sources and their application within the scope of the legal fields that the course comprises,
- identify and solve less complicated concrete legal issues in below said fields,
- reflect on the reasonableness and consequences of chosen solutions.
The course covers central parts of property law with an emphasis on rules that concern the internal relations of companies and company and entrepreneur relations to the surrounding world. The course is divided into three parts, where the first part initially covers the structure of the law, the different legal sources and how legal rules are created and applied. The course then covers legal rules that concern agreement in general, such as what is required to enter into a contract and other binding legal acts, contracts through a middleman and contract invalidity. Further, purchase of goods and services both between traders and between traders and consumers is covered.

The second part of the course covers general real-estate law, particularly rules about the purchase agreement's form, conditions, the fixture rules of realty, and the seller's responsibility for the condition of the real estate. This part also covers rules on claims, limitation and credit guarantees, both special and general execution and seizure and bankruptcy. Furthermore, the relation between employer and employee is covered.

The third and final part covers the different business forms. This part also covers the general rules regarding indemnity liability outside contract conditions, as well as penal law regarding property crimes and basic civil procedure law. The course is completed with addressing family members' economic dealings, particularly regarding property division and estate distribution.
Teaching takes the form of lectures and exercises. Compulsory written assignments may occur. The student is also expected to study independently, individually or in groups.
The course is examined through a written examination at the end of the course and through one or two individual written examinations during the course.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.

A grade of Pass with Credit, Pass or Fail is given for the course
Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division.
The course literature is decided upon by the department in question.
Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.

The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
