The course provides advanced understanding of the driving forces behind the pollution and natural resource depletion in these spheres. The students learn to understand, examine and analyse the historic development of interaction between human and the environmen, as well as causes behind environmental degradation and potential solutions. Through the multidisciplinary approach, the linkage between the natural and social science perspectives will be focused upon.
Lectures will provide an overview of the readings and anchor the knowledge base of the subject. The gain of knowledge is reinforced during seminars and discussions.
The course is examined through active participation in seminars and through a final written, individual examination.
