| AIM OF THE COURSE |
On completion of the course, the student should be able to
- account for the integration aspects of European policy, cooperation and dependence, both spatially and over time
- use tools to analyse historical and contemporary European relations. |
| CONTENTS |
The course covers integration within Europe, the structure and development of the EU, particularly from the perspective of the new Scandinavian member states.
The course covers the development of Europe after World War II; democracy, citizenship, Europe's role in the world and the development of the EU, its various departments and bodies, and other departments and political actors in Europe. |
| TEACHING |
| The teaching takes the form of a combination of lectures and seminars. The students should also study independently. |
| EXAMINATION |
The course is examined through participation in seminars and through a written examination. Detailed information on the contents and set-up of the examination can be found in the course study guide.
Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.
Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades. |

| CERTIFICATE |
| Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division. |

Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.
The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed. |
