AIM OF THE COURSE
The course has a business perspective in focus and thus, the objective is to gain understanding of the business rationale in the strategic development and internationalisation of companies.

After completed the course the students should be able to:
- identify and use parameters to describe the structure and Internationalisation of a company
- apply concepts, models and theories of Business idea and Strategy in an empirical context
- present and discuss the mainstream theories of Strategy and Internationalisation
- identify new trends in the field of Strategy and Internationalisation
- develop a business plan for the internationalisation of a company.
CONTENTS
An average week will consist of lectures and workshops, seminars or case discussions.
The pedagogic idea is that the a student is responsible for his/her own learning process, which implies that there will be much independent search for additional reading material and writing of reports in the course. Apart from the course objective, and the fact that you will also acquire training in working in groups, in preparing material for external presentations, you will also improve your skills in how to make presentations in front of an audience, to give and to receive comments of presented work.
TEACHING
The course aim is fulfilled through: lectures, group work, assignments for in depth study of particular issues, report writing, report presentati, discussion and assessments. In addition to those, the student are expected to study on their own. Language of instruction: English
EXAMINATION
- Assignment (group project) and a indivudual written examination.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

At least two years of undergraduate studies with at least 60 ECTS credits in Business administration (equivalent).". Documented knowledge of English equivalent to "Engelska B"; i.e. English as native language or an internationally recognized test, e.g. TOEFL (minimum scores: Paperbased 575 + TWE-score 4.5, internetbased 90 TWE-score 20), IELTS, academic (minimum score: Overall band 6.5 and no band under 5.5), or equivalent.
GRADING
The course is graded according to the ECTS grading scale A-F
CERTIFICATE
Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division.
COURSE LITERATURE
The course literature is decided upon by the department in question.
OTHER INFORMATION
Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.

The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
